We do not like cycling on the main roads. If you enter Turkey from Bulgaria or Greece borders here are some routes where you can avoid traffic and enjoy the scenery and hospitality. As all nice roads, they are longer.

After you reach to Sarıyer, then you can take municipality’s boats from Sarıyer to Eminönü or you can cycle by Bosphorus. These boats are free for bicycles.
